Join Us in Spreading Love to Seniors This Valentine’s Day
This Valentine’s Day, we invite you to participate in a meaningful project aimed at making a difference in the lives of seniors living in nursing homes. Many older and disabled adults in long-term care facilities face significant isolation and depression. Even a small connection—like a heartfelt Valentine’s card—can help foster a sense of belonging and improve their mental and social well-being.
The Council on Aging – Southern California is proud to partner with Moore Law for Children to ensure seniors in our community feel valued, loved, and remembered.
In Orange and Riverside Counties alone, approximately 45,000 elderly and disabled adults reside in long-term care facilities, with 50% having no family or friends actively involved in their care. With your support, we aim to create and deliver 4,000 Valentine’s Day cards to let them know they are not forgotten.
How You Can Help:
- Create Valentine’s Day cards – Get creative and heartfelt!
- No envelopes needed – Cards should be delivered unsealed.
- Don’t sign the cards – To avoid confusion for the seniors.
- Avoid religious statements – Respecting diverse personal beliefs.
- Assist younger children – K-5 children may need guidance with legibility and decorations.
